They should be best team leaders to provide an efficient patient care. They do face different situations to be proactive or reactive (Branden, 2016). They should always be a proactive leader to avoid upcoming risks to the patients. So a health care practitioner should assess her proactivity before becoming a leader. The following content discusses the new insights I gained based on my Proa ctivity assessment and the contribution of these results to my personal perception of proactivity for leadership. This also includes the impact of these new insights on my current or future role in health care administration leadership. In my experience, a good health care leader should be proactive (Branden, 2016). They should be able to handle and control the situations by initiating good happenings before it could happen. I perceive that it is good to be proactive than reactive as they constantly look forward for future happenings and consequences. I also understood that a good leader should prepare for the upcoming situation and plan intervention ahead to control unexpected risks and should adapt proactivity for the success of the organization (Cara, 2014). I have performed by proactivity assessment and gained new insights based on the results. I understood that the forward-thinkingleadership is the most effective method to be practiced in which a leader should think on a long term basis. I taught I should foresee the situation. At least it should be planned few months before. I learned that, we have to inspire our co- workers and should work hard and communicate our vision to employees to gain cooperation (Cara, 2014). We should be a good listener to the patients and our co workers to identify the problems earlier and to find solutions ahead. A better leader should have strong communication skills to maintain effective communication with the patient. I thought that I have to plan ahead and organize based on prioritized needs. I wanted to improve by problem solving skills and find wise solutions and not to always depend on instruction manuals (Cara, 2014). I learned that, I should never hesitate to seek advice and help from other health care personnel when required as no one can know everything. I should be an assertive person. It understood that, I should be compassionate, polite with loyalty and great attitude. A leader should follow all these qualities to lead the team. A leader should be a role model for the subordinates. I taught that I should always strive and aim for positive deeds. I learned that I should never be panic to face the situations. I have to be calm and take wise decisions so as to avoid emotional decision-making.I should try to understand how to utilize the strengths of the team and to avoid weakness which helps in quick delegation of task to a right person. At last we should take every criticism as constructive and learn from mistakes. Always both positive and negative feedback is important. Based on insight gained, I have improved my present or future goals in health care administration. It is clear that a great leader should be flexible and adapt to a rapidly changing environment (Scivicque, 2010). I learned that I want to imagine the future in the present. I have identified five goals that are needed to be a proactive person to be followed in the future. My first goal is to predict situations prior so as to avoid unexpected happenings. I have to anticipate future problems and outcomes. My second goal is to prevent the obstacles first by finding ways to overcome them before problem could arise. I learned I should prevent harm by following through proactive assessment as supported by Oregon patient safety commission in 2016. Next goal is to plan in long term basis to control the risks (Scivicque, 2010). I have to get involved in the problem solving process and should take timely efficient action. I should be a role model to my colleagues and should avoid the risks. Thus, proactive thinking is a great thing, every leader should posses. A great leader should avoid unexpected results by foreseeing the things. He should act as a savior for the subordinates. As a health care administrator, proactivity is important to avoid harms from risks.
